Premarital counseling is for you if you believe in the investment for your marriage as much (or more than) the investment for your wedding. Premarital counseling is a powerful tool that research has shown to lower the chances of divorce and increase your happiness in marriage. Research has shown that couples that get married and attend premarital counseling have a 30% higher success rate and lower divorce rate than those that did not. *citation below*
This is for couples who are happily engaged - couples who are unhappily engaged are better served by regular couples therapy. This is a service that is more similar to coaching than therapy; we aren't going over grievances so much as being pro-active about setting your relationship up for success.

Premarital counseling can establish a shared vision for your future, strengthen communication and conflict resolution skills, address expectations and maybe even fears around marriage, and be an opportunity to explore what marriage means for you as you work towards celebrating your commitment to each other (and especially writing your vows).

Generally premarital counseling runs from 3-6 sessions long, and we cover topics such as (but not limited to) family planning, navigating financial decisions, the role of extended family, what marriage means to you, ways to support each other, navigating conflict, and meaningful ways of showing love to each other.

Premarital therapy is a great opportunity to navigate challenges before they occur, while you are both in a healthy headspace and are the most receptive to each other's perspective.

Premarital relationship counseling online is $250.00/session. Sessions are typically 60 minutes long.
